Priest had Gunther pinned, but Finn Balor came out and put Gunther's leg on the rope for the break. The distraction caused Gunther to put the sleeper back on and win the title. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest had been betrayed.

Arn Anderson greeted Cody backstage and told him he has friends watching his back. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa came out to try to help Solo win the title. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton came down to help make it an even fight. Cody went for the third cross rhodes, but Jacob Fatu assaulted him. Fatu put Cody through the table, but Cody still kicked out. There's speculation that Jacob Fatu injured his leg on the table spot. Solo was looking to finish Cody, but Roman Reigns made his return to a huge ovation. He ran to the ring and hit the superman punch, followed by a spear. He looked at Cody and started leaving the ring. Cody hit the cross rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
